The Silver Yatagan is a curved Ottoman sword, bestowed upon Sidra al-Najjar by Hannah in recompense for settling the matter of an evil spirit that had troubled the cemetery. It carries the distinctive curve proper to the yatagan, that recurved blade the Turks favour for the ease with which it slashes.
Together with the sword, Hannah made over a set of thirty silver-tipped throwing knives and a purse of two hundred gold pieces. The reward once given, Sidra and Ahmet Yusuf fell to dividing it: Sidra kept the Silver Yatagan for herself, Ahmet took a hundred and fifty of the gold, and the remaining fifty fell to Sidra; the knives they shared evenly between them, fifteen apiece.
