Sif's Books & Manuscripts is a dealer in rare volumes, celebrated for a collection as eclectic as it is precious. Books stacked with more care than order spill over from every shelf, lending the place a snugness that borders upon clutter; and for all its want of room, one perceives at once that the wares are of value and are cherished. The proprietor is a tall tiefling, curt upon first acquaintance yet ready enough for conversation, and by no means unwilling to treat over the sale of an uncommon tome.
Hither came Jean-Zera Mongé, in search of a buyer for a book taken from Osman. Stepping within, Jean-Zera marked the shop's peculiar charm and made towards the tiefling behind the counter. After a brusque first exchange the proprietor bade him sit and discuss the matter, and so a negotiation was opened upon the volume. In the course of it Jean-Zera examined a recovered spellbook and named several workings written therein — among them Parquet Lock, Mantle of the Sophists Avicenna, Solomon's Everlasting Wrath, and Conjure Animals.
