The magical painted scroll bears a lifelike likeness of a man's frightened face, and holds a person trapped within it — one who might, it is thought, be set free by Greater Restoration or by Remove Curse.
Gizem came upon the scroll in a dark cell. Examination disclosed the captive and the two possible means of his release; the company, however, chose to leave the scroll where it lay, and locked the cell once more behind them.
