The Recruited Mage Prisoner is a spellcaster of great power, fitted with magic-dampening restraints that cover both his mouth and his hands. It was intended that he be but loosely bound before the assault upon Yedikule Fortress, the better that he might act in favour of the Sublime Porte amid the confusion.
During the assault the mage loosed a Cone of Cold, dealing grievous damage to several of the attackers at once. That done, he turned himself invisible and fled up a staircase, abandoning the defenders and making his escape into the city.
