The Misty Pond is a subterranean park of clear waters and uncommon beasts, its ground lush with mosses and fungi, so that the whole has the air of an oasis. It affords a tranquil retreat within the undercity, where a visitor may watch the several creatures that come to drink; paths wind about the pond and lead away to other parts of the undercity, and, it is said, may reach as far as the upper city.
It was Sidra al-Najjar who set down the various zones of the undercity upon a map and marked the Misty Pond for a feature of note, gathering there samples of moss and fungus for her further study. The park draws locals and folk from the upper city alike, and serves as a gathering-place for the community underground.
