The Laboratory is a guarded chamber within an underground complex, its character fixed by one great desk littered with shattered vials and herbs gone to stone. Most of its liquors are spoilt and spilt, yet a single bottle remains whole, holding a viscous black matter that waits still upon some hand to name it. In these leavings one reads plainly the marks of old workings, whether of the alchemist's art or the mage's.
A sombre air hangs over the place, and speaks of long abandonment. The Laboratory keeps only the residue of labours once pursued in magic or alchemy, and hints, in its stillness, at the perils that may yet lie in the rooms about it.
