The Karakoy Casino is a house of chance set down in the Undercity, and it wears its custom loudly: a lively, disorderly place drawing a clientele as mixed as any in the lower town. It occupies a stone building of several storeys, hung about with carpets, its principal chamber given over to a spacious floor of worn tables and gaming-boards of every description. The company that fills it is diverse indeed — half-orcs, half-elves, tieflings, and others of no human kind at all rub shoulders across the baize.
For all that, its purpose is the oldest and simplest: diversion and the turning of coin. It draws to itself men and women of every sort and station, each come in search of fortune or of company, and, seated as it is amidst the bustling market of the Undercity, it has made of itself a kind of common ground where the strange folk of that place may meet as equals.
